It’s impressive how they’ve managed to create such a unique atmosphere in what are essentially standard two-bedroom apartments. The rooms aren’t as expansive as the typical themed hotels, which usually have sprawling spaces to fit those extravagant beds and Jacuzzis. But here, they’ve worked within their constraints and still managed to transport you to another world. I can’t imagine how challenging it must have been to get all those custom pieces up those narrow stairs. It’s this kind of resourceful thinking that makes Margate Suites stand out.

Interior designer Amy Exton is a true visionary. She came up with the seashell cove design in a flash of inspiration, and it’s now the centerpiece of the entire suite. I really admire how she and her team turned a simple idea into something extraordinary. Working with master carpenter Elouise Farley, whose precision is nothing short of a work of art, and Jessica du Preez of Poh Maluna design studio, who nailed the vintage vibe with custom upholstery and carpeting, they’ve created a space that’s more than just a room to sleep in—it’s an experience.
