So interior design is your thing? Here are my picks for the hotels with the most stunning look and feel in New York:

The Beekman, A Thompson Hotel

“The interior of this hotel is just stunning and very photo worthy.” L. on

An architectural gem, hailed for its iconic nine-story atrium and pyramidal skylight. The interior décor is by architect Martin Brudnizki. A famous Swedish interior architect and product designer, based in both London and New York and responsible for the interiors of hot London venues. The result feels like the setting for an Agatha Christie murder mystery – all fringed lampshades, enormous bookcases filled with curios and a clubby palate of absinthe green, dusky pink and shades of cocoa and St Bruno. The lighting is set permanently to twilight.  Its theatrical interiors is a must see for every interior design lover.

Crosby Street Hotel

“As an interior designer, I absolutely LOVED the decor and am hard to please.” F. on

It’s the first non-Britain opening from the Firmdale Hotels group whose boutique London properties are favourites with in-the-know travellers who like a bit of style and personality (read more about the London hotels with the most stunning interior designs here). Co-owner Kit Kemp is renowned for her bold interiors, creating luxe spaces that are a riot of colour and pattern. The Crosby Street Hotel is no exception. It has a highly individual style that is uninfluenced by interiors trends. And that’s what makes it unique. The Crosby Street Hotel is a truly lovely place to stay.

The NoMad Hotel

“The interiors are gorgeous. You really feel at home.” F. on

The NoMad Hotel is housed in a turn of the century Beaux-Arts building that has been fully restored to its original grandeur with interiors by French designer Jacques Garcia. The design of the hotel was inspired by the Parisian flat of Garcia’s youth and is intended as a fresh take on the classic grand hotels of Europe with a distinct New York sensibility. The ground-floor lobby, lounge and dining area, spread out over several rooms, features faded Persian rugs, tapestry-covered chairs and a 200-year-old fireplace imported from France. This is a unique setting that is a rare find.
